Role description:
Arcadis is searching for a Florida Water Treatment Leader in Plantation, Florida to join our Resilience-Water Business Area as a âdoer / sellerâ to lead and direct the development of water treatment and reuse projects in Florida and the South Region.
The Florida Water Treatment Leader will work with other nationally recognized technical staff and will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge of Water/Reuse design & construction on projects/programs of approximately $1M, to $20M+. This is a âhands-on' role with an expectation to collaborate with various Arcadis locations and support projects and client development activities nationwide.
Role accountabilities:
Serve as a Design Manager and work closely with an Arcadis Certified Project Manager, overseeing and/or leading the technical delivery of very large projects, complex projects, specialized projects ensuring client satisfaction.
Other responsibilities include;
• Direct and oversee quality assurance and control of water treatment and reuse projects. Provide technical expertise as QA/QC reviewer or technical advisor to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as Arcadis' quality and safety practices.
• Lead knowledge transfer and development of staff within area of expertise.
• Supervise and support the work of others while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and technical staff and ensuring the development of Arcadis' capability in the discipline(s).
• Manage technical coordination and leadership role on larger or complex projects, or projects with higher associated risk.
• Support marketing and proposal phases of projects including preparation of and participation in winning proposals and interviews, as well as developing scopes of work and budgets.
• Build and maintain a strong professional reputation as an individual and for Arcadis. Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile at a regional level (e.g., conference presentations, publications, and participation in technical committees).
• Actively engage with Florida client account teams, supporting the expansion of business development opportunities and client relationships to strategically grow Arcadis' Florida portfolio, leveraging existing and new client relationships.
• Travel will be required to project sites, client meetings, conferences, and staff engagement throughout Florida.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 15 years of water treatment and/or reuse experience.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field of study.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Florida and ability to obtain license by reciprocity in other states as needed.
Key Skills and Attributes:
The role requires team leadership experience, including the ability to manage overall project delivery expectations, prioritize tasks effectively, and mentor others. It also calls for strong technical expertise and hands-on experience with water treatment and reuse projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent client management skills, including preparing and developing proposals as well as participating in interviews. Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential. Additionally, the position requires effective relationship management skills to build and maintain successful partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 20 years of experience in water treatment and/or reuse at a comparable engineering firm. A Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field of study, is preferred. Candidates should also bring strong knowledge of and experience working with local clients in Southeast Florida. In addition, active participation in regional or national professional associations is highly desirable.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $175,000 - $230,000/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
