Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Oversee daily operations for assigned production areas, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
Monitor and support Supervisors in managing associate performance, resolving bottlenecks, and addressing operational challenges.
Coordinate with the Value Stream Manager to ensure alignment with broader value stream goals and objectives.
Continuous Improvement:
Champion continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies and lean manufacturing tools to identify and eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity.
Support Supervisors in implementing and sustaining 5S standards on the shop floor.
Lead small group problem-solving efforts to address recurring issues and drive process improvements.
Team Development:
Mentor and coach Supervisors to build leadership capabilities and improve team performance.
Facilitate training programs to ensure associates are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
Promote a positive and collaborative team culture that emphasizes accountability, communication, and mutual respect.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all safety protocols are followed, and workplace hazards are identified and mitigated promptly.
Conduct safety audits and collaborate with Supervisors to maintain a safe working environment for all associates.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Data and Metrics Management:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, downtime, scrap rates, and quality performance.
Provide regular reports and updates to the Value Stream Manager, highlighting successes and identifying areas for improvement.
Collaborate with Supervisors to implement corrective actions and track progress toward performance goals.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial management, or a related field of study.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production operations, including 3+ years in a supervisor/leadership role.
Experience supervising teams in a lean manufacturing environment.
Experience leading multi-functional, diverse, and cross departmental teams â driving improvements and changes.
