Sr. Cloud Engineer

Overview

Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services in a hybrid environment. Additional responsibilities involve working closely with development teams, IT operations, and security teams to ensure the efficient and secure operation of cloudbased systems. Provide timely solutions to support business decisions both independently and as part of a team.+

• Develop and implement cloud solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to industry best practices.

• Review monthly cloud cost spend and provide recommendations whenever possible to help with right-sizing, waste mitigation, and reduce expense.

• Maintain and administer computer networks in a hybrid cloud environment consisting of physical and virtual servers and Azure Cloud platform.

• Automate the deployment, management, and monitoring of cloud resources.

• Provide technical guidance and serve as an escalation point for other cloud infrastructure engineers.

• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.

• Maintain proper control records and comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and procedures.

• Stay abreast of advances in technology, identify which new technologies would benefit our environment, research the identified technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency with automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python, with a minimum of 5 years experience.

• Understanding of encryption, network and security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers, with a minimum of 5 years experience.

• Be self-motivated, goal-orientated, quality driven, and capable of working independently with little supervision

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid infrastructure components with specific understanding in Azure Cloud SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS resources (Design, Implement, and support), with a minimum of 5 years experience.

• Experience with Identity and Access Management including RBAC, Conditional Access, and Secrets Management, with a minimum of 5 years experience.

• Strong understanding of Authorization and Authentication standards such as OAuth 2.0, SAML, OIDC (implement and troubleshoot), with a minimum of 5 years experience.

• Experience with managing Azure Cloud resources, optimizing security, performance, and cost.

• Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools, with a minimum of 5 years experience.

• Expertise in SSL/TLS certificates management.

• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Continuous monitoring of system performance and health.

• Involved in or overseeing applications and server lifecycle management through the entire lifespan of an application or server.

• Effective project and time management skills are essential, with a strong emphasis on prioritizing high-impact tasks to meet deadlines

Qualifications and Experience

Strong proficiency in the following technologies (minimum of 5 years experience):
