Job Description

Position Summary


The Maintenance Planner assists the Supervisor Maintenance Planning to plan maintenance activities for the company fleet.


Job Responsibilities Include The Following, But Not Limited To


• Runs a scheduled maintenance forecast report as required for review of future upcoming events.

• Prepares routine and non-routine maintenance work orders.

• Schedules and coordinates maintenance requirements with each maintenance city performing the work to ensure capability, Man hours and ground time requirements.

• Ensures that future maintenance requirements are coordinated with other support departments including tooling, materials, quality control, engineering and line maintenance.

• Gather, sort, and prepare closing copies of completed work packages and tasks. Provide Planning Manager continual updates, as needed, of completion status pertaining to all work assigned by the Planning Department. Update tasks as required in PMI system after review and final closing of work orders.

• Open new work orders in PMI as assigned by the Planning Manager, to incorporate entry of aircraft, station, dates, times, G/L numbers, tasks, and job cards.

• Coordinate required Maintenance Schedule (forecast) with Maintenance Control and outstations manager including fleet utilization and flight schedule.

• Coordinate with the Materials Department for any need of parts being issued; make sure the parts are issued on time and sent to the correct station.

• Print and prepare Weekend, A-Check, C-Check, and Special work packages as assigned by Planning Manager. This includes necessary forms, Job Cards, Engineering Orders, drawings, Tally Sheets, Airworthiness Directives, and Service Bulletins.

• Consistently maintains quantity and quality of work standards set.

• Always adhere to Amerijet Company policies and procedures.

• Additional duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications And Skills


• High school graduate or GED.

• Prior experience working in aircraft maintenance and /or planning, preferably with Boeing 767 aircraft.

• Familiar with FAA Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Supplemental Type Certificates Fleet specific OEM Manuals.

• A good understanding of Manufactures’ IPC (illustrated Parts Catalog), AMM, (Aircraft Maintenance Manual), SRM (Structural Repair Manual), AD (Airworthiness Directives) and SB (Service Bulletin).

• Must have the necessary writing skills to create complete, practical work cards from Service Bulletins, manufacturer’s cards, Engineering Orders, etc.

• Must be able to analyze, based on new requirements or last compliances, future maintenance/inspection requirements and their associated time restrictions from the Maintenance Program, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, etc.

• Must have good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations.

• Working knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance tracking programs necessary to perform job functions.

• Excellent oral, written, and communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal and social skills to build a good rapport. Maintain communication with all involved parties on a project.

• Interact effectively with executives, management, vendors, and staff to meet corporate objectives.

• Positive and professional demeanor. Great team player.

• Solid judgment along with decision-making skills.

• Organized self-starter who understands how to prioritize tasks and is meticulous in record keeping.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills


• Associate degree or higher in Science or Engineering, and/or Certification in Aviation (E.g. A & P license) with relevant experience.

• FAA Part 121 experience, a good understanding of aircraft maintenance programs/requirements, Airworthiness Directives, aircraft logbooks pertaining to the recording of maintenance and flight information, maintenance forms, maintenance work instructions, maintenance corrective actions, and aircraft hours and cycle calculations.



Supervisory Responsibilities


This position will not have direct reports but may require providing training for new/existing team members.


Language Skills


The employee must possess strong interpersonal communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions, and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.


Physical Activities And Requirements Of The Position


Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.
