Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for developing and supervising an effective team of maintenance supervisors and technicians to safely deliver tails & water equipment uptime and performance targets at the Pinto Valley Mine Site. This professional plays a key role in the general oversight of all maintenance activities associated with the tailings and water infrastructure, including pumps, pipelines, valves, dewatering and related facilities. This position ensures the reliability, safety, and environmental compliance of critical systems that support continuous mine operations and works closely with the operations, supply chain and technical service teams at Pinto Valley as well as with external suppliers, contractors and consultants.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Balance of field (70%) and office work (30%). Field work is performed in different areas, equipment and plants specific to the Tails & Water facilities at the Pinto Valley Mine Site
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
As an employee of the Capstone Copper Maintenance Department your key responsibilities are aligned with the Capstone Copper Asset Management Framework (AMF) Elements. You will be required to develop a clear understanding of the Capstone Copper AMF Standards relevant to your role and ensure they are applied within your area of responsibility.

• Provide leadership, expertise and guidance to all T&W maintenance and operational activities scheduled and unscheduled - AM11

• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for tailings storage facilities, pipelines, pump stations, reclaim water systems, and seepage control infrastructure. - AM11
• Lead and coordinate the daily maintenance activities of multi-disciplinary crews (mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation) across tailings and water management assets- AM11
• Coordinate shutdowns, equipment overhauls, and capital upgrade projects in conjunction with project and reliability engineers. - AM12
• Work with supply chain to establish and maintain a proper level of inventory by analyzing inventory levels, critical spares, slow movement, obsolescence, developing BOM's, etc - AM06
• Report T&W team KPI performance to identify deviations/bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on reliability, efficiency, and asset sustainability. - AM08

• Review contractor and external support performance for T&W maintenance and operational activities - AM11
• Confirm and record that contractors and external support are following MSHA and Pinto Valley guidelines - AM03
• Ensure consistent, quality of work performed by contractors and external support - AM10
• Evaluate economically and strategically the different functions within the maintenance team to propose either function insourced or outsourced - AM11
• Management and economic review of contracted equipment, rentals & consumables (mobile equipment, generators) - AM05

• Participate in the development of the T&W team budget by providing comprehensive work plans, historical expenses information, additions and decommissions of equipment, feasibility of functions insourcing or outsourcing, etc - AM02
• Review maintenance budgets, monitor costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. - AM15
• Review periodically with the team the economic performance of the different functions under your supervision to create awareness and identify opportunities for improvement -AM15

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
• 10+ years of experience in a mining industry, including 3 years in a leadership capacity
Preferred
• 10+ years of experience in a mining, fixed plant focused operational facility, 5 years in a leadership capacity
Technical Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSA):
• Understanding of safety protocols and practices in a mining processing plant or open pit mine environment
• Knowledge of principles of supervision, training, performance evaluation and contractor management
• Intermediate principles and practices of budget preparation, monitoring and administration
• Capability to read and understand construction drawings, P&ID, work plans and equipment specifications
• Understanding of work management process in ERP's
• Understanding of Lean Maintenance methodologies to reduce waste and inefficiencies
• Strong understanding of tailings management systems, slurry pumping, water reclaim systems, and pipeline operations.
• Valid US driver's license (must obtain AZ driver's license)
• Able to speak, comprehend, and write in English
