Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Support senior staff on existing projects
• Perform analyses related to traffic operations, safety and/or planning analyses
• Document study/analyses findings and recommend solutions in coordination with senior staff
• Assist senior staff with communicating findings from analyses/studies to clients/staff including
• Preparing PowerPoint slide decks, meeting talking points
• Ability to assist senior staff answer questions if needed when presenting results
• Preparing written reports and correspondence
• Documenting meeting summaries/minutes
• Conduct available data research, planning policy and regulation research, and project background information review in order to gather project related information, identify problems and potential solutions, and evaluate potential alternatives
• Perform Quality Control Tasks
COMPETENCIES
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgement abilities.
• Proficiency with traffic engineering /transportation planning software (i.e., HCS, Synchro, VISSIM and ArcGIS)
• Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Understanding in all or some of FDOT guidelines/processes (Complete Streets. Project Traffic Forecasting, Interchange Access Reports, Safety Analyses/Countermeasures)
• Knowledge of transportation and traffic engineering/planning principles and practices
• Must be flexible and team player.
• Dependable, Reliable, Punctual
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Urban Planning or equivalent.
• 1 to 5 years’ experience working in the Transportation field.
