Job Description:
The Technical Product Analyst translates product intent into implementable engineering work. This person decomposes user stories into concrete system behaviors, maps integrations and data flows, and defines technical acceptance criteria — preventing under-scoped or non-implementable stories from reaching development and reducing downstream rework.
Core Responsibilities:
• Decompose user stories into system behaviors.
• Identify system impacts, integrations, and data flows.
• Define technical acceptance criteria.
• Support story splitting when complexity is high.
• Lead technical spikes and feasibility analysis.
Illustrative Contribution (single story)
For a given payments story, the analyst validates the technical realities before it is committed — for example:
• Which systems own beneficiary data.
• Whether validation is real-time or batch.
• API latency and error-handling behavior.
• Security and entitlement enforcement.
Value to the Product Team
• Prevents under-scoped or non-implementable stories from entering a sprint.
• Reduces rework during development.
Preferred Experience:
• Priority is given to candidates who have demonstrated experience working closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and QA teams in an agile product delivery environment. Hands-on experience in the following areas is particularly valuable:
Payments Platforms & Domain:
• Payment processing platforms such as Finastra, FIS, or Volante.
• APIs, wire transfers, and real-time payments (RTP).
• Deep technical and analyst experience within the B2B payments domain, including Wire / RTP.
• Fraud, Compliance & Risk
• Fraud detection — Actimize / Xceed.
• OFAC screening — Fircosoft.
• AML / BSA regulatory frameworks.
• Regulatory and risk considerations embedded in product design.
Non-Functional & Engineering Practices
• Resiliency and observability.
• Performance and load-testing collaboration with SQA.
• Agile delivery, DoR / DoD discipline, and sprint planning.
