Job Description

Position Overview : The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology Program Director is a pivotal leadership role responsible for comprehensive program management, ensuring educational excellence and professional standards. This position encompasses strategic oversight of program operations, including maintaining rigorous compliance with JRCDMS and SACSCOC accreditation standards, conducting ongoing program assessments, and participating in strategic budget planning. The director actively contributes to educational delivery through didactic and clinical instruction while maintaining cutting-edge knowledge of professional practices and educational methodologies through continuous professional development. By assuming a transformative leadership role, the program director is dedicated to engaging students, fostering a dynamic learning environment, modeling professional excellence, and ultimately preparing competent, career-ready graduates who meet the highest standards of the diagnostic medical sonography profession.


Key Responsibilities


• Communication Management: Respond promptly to daily communications via email and voicemail, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.

• Policy Adherence and Ethical Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the University's mission, policies, procedures, ethical standards, compliance with data protection regulations and pertinent legal regulations in all aspects of admission activities.

• University Engagement: Participate in Commencement Exercises, new student orientation, university events, committees, self-studies, and University Commencement Ceremonies.

• Special Projects: Execute special projects assigned by the President or supervisor.

• Compliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, as well as FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulation, the FNU Code of Ethics, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (FIPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.

• Assigned Duties: Undertake other assigned duties as required.



Position Responsibilities


Faculty Oversight and Development


• Conduct comprehensive faculty observations and manage end-of-course evaluations

• Supervise online and in-person classes, monitoring faculty engagement and student interactions

• Manage faculty staffing, including recruitment and coordination with Human Resources

• Prepare and facilitate annual professional development training



Academic Program Management


• Develop and maintained curriculum for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology program

• Ensure consistent, high-quality educational delivery across all campuses

• Review and update program materials, textbooks, equipment, and course content

• Work with program coordinators to maintain academic consistency

• Engage with program advisory boards to align curriculum with industry needs

• Teach Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology courses in classroom, lab, and field settings

• Create comprehensive course materials, including:

• Syllabi using Simple Syllabus

• Lesson plans

• Exams, quizzes, and assignments

• Deliver lectures and facilitate laboratory sessions

• Grade projects and exams

• Provide progress reports and mid-term feedback


Student Support and Engagement


• Provide direct student advising in didactic and clinical settings

• Monitor student progress and attendance

• Conduct one-on-one student support and tutoring

• Follow up on student absences and participation issues

• Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts



Clinical Education Management


• Develop and maintain relationships with clinical sites

• Supervise faculty and students at clinical locations

• Ensure correlation between clinical and didactic education

• Maintain industry-relevant knowledge and teaching approaches



Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities


• Manage Planning Assessment & Evaluation Forms

• Monitor and maintain programmatic accreditation standards

• Coordinate accreditation activities

• Establish and evaluate program and student learning outcomes

• Contribute to marketing strategies for program enrollment

• Prepare and submit academic reports

• Maintain grade books and academic records

• Monitor equipment and supply needs

• Coordinate with library and bookstore for course materials



Operational Requirements


• Perform duties across multiple campuses and time slots

• Attend campus faculty meetings

• Maintain current licensures and certifications

• Ensure safety and security requirements are met

• Flexible scheduling including day, evening, and weekend assignments



Requirements


• Master's degree (required)

• Minimum 3 years of documented clinical experience in the professional discipline

• Minimum 2 years of instructional experience in a JRCDMS-accredited program Clear/Active unrestricted professional certifications:

• ARDMS Registries

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification



Comprehensive Understanding Of
