Job Type: Full-Time


Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 per year

Aerial Recovery is a 501 c 3 recognized non-profit organization registered in the state of Tennessee (USA) with a mission to “Save Lives and Stop Evil”. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Manager/Bookkeeper to join our dedicated team.


Position Overview


We are seeking a reliable and skilled Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing essential financial insights to support decision-making within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience working in the non-profit sector.


Key Responsibilities


• Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

• Reconcile bank statements and credit card (DIVVY/BILL.COM) accounts monthly

• Process payroll and ensure all payroll taxes are calculated, withheld, and remitted in a timely manner

• Manage expense reports and ensure appropriate documentation and approval for all transactions

• Work with the Administration Manager to help with Personnel-related financial matters

• Responsible for supporting HR and Payroll-related financial matters as requested by Senior Management

• Responsible for making timely payments for any operational expenses or grant-related financial transactions

• Responsible for analyzing and making professional recommendations for strengthening internal systems of financial management and tax efficiencies for the organization

• Budgeting & Financial Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget in collaboration with senior management

• Monitor budget performance and track variances against financial goals

• Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis to management

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, COO and The Board of Directors

• Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure adherence to non-profit financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements (e.g., IRS Form 990)

• Assist with audits and ensure that all necessary documentation is available for auditors

• Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard organizational assets

• Grant & Fundraising Financial Support

• Track restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring proper allocation and use per donor agreements

• Prepare financial reports for grant applications and reporting, ensuring compliance with funding terms

• Work closely with the development team to maintain accurate financial records for donor contributions, fundraising campaigns and grant research and applications

• Responsible for sending out all donation receipts in a timely manner

• General Administrative Duties

• Maintain accurate and organized financial filing systems (both physical and digital)

• Communicate effectively with vendors, employees, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters

• Provide administrative support as needed for financial aspects of fundraising events and activities


Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, in a non-profit environment

• Strong knowledge of accounting and CRM management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intaact, Give Lively, Salesforce, or other relevant platforms)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools

• Familiarity with non-profit accounting standards, IRS regulations, and grant management

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders

• A passion for the mission of Aerial Recovery and a desire to contribute to its success



Preferred Qualifications


• Certification in nonprofit financial management (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus
