Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Director of Key Account Management to lead a high-performing team of Key Account Managers (KAMs) focused on building strategic partnerships with Centers of Excellence (COEs) specializing in bipolar disorder. This leadership role is critical to driving organizational success by creating and executing a cohesive strategy for engaging influential healthcare institutions, academic centers, and mental health providers. The Director will be responsible for empowering the KAM team, overseeing account strategies, and ensuring alignment with corporate goals while promoting a culture of empathy, collaboration, and customer-centricity to improve patient outcomes in the bipolar disorder therapeutic area.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development:
• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Key Account Management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, empathy, and excellence.
• Recruit, train, and mentor KAMs to ensure they have the skills, knowledge, and tools needed to excel in their roles.
• Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations to drive individual and team success.
• Inspire and motivate the team to prioritize customer-focused solutions and patient-centered care in all activities.
Strategic Planning And Execution
• Develop and implement a comprehensive account management strategy for engaging COEs in the bipolar disorder space.
• Align team objectives with organizational goals, including revenue targets, market share growth, and improved access to care for patients.
• Oversee the creation and execution of tailored account plans, ensuring KAMs address the unique needs and opportunities within their assigned accounts.
• Monitor team performance and account progress, identifying challenges and opportunities to optimize strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement And Relationship Building
• Establish and nurture relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers within COEs, including psychiatrists, clinical researchers, administrators, and pharmacists.
• Act as a senior representative of the company, fostering trust and credibility with external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to amplify awareness and advocacy for the company's bipolar disorder product portfolio.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with internal teams such as Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Clinical Research to ensure alignment across all initiatives targeting COEs.
• Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between the KAM team and other departments to address customer needs and improve patient care.
• Provide feedback to internal teams based on insights from COEs to guide product development, marketing strategies, and educational programs.
Market And Therapeutic Expertise
• Maintain a deep understanding of the bipolar disorder therapeutic landscape, including treatment guidelines, clinical research, and emerging trends.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to support the team in delivering scientifically accurate and impactful messaging to COEs.
• Stay informed of competitive dynamics and healthcare policies affecting COEs, leveraging insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
Performance Monitoring And Reporting
• Implement metrics and KPIs to evaluate team performance, account engagement, and business outcomes.
• Regularly report on team progress, key achievements, and challenges to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, corporate policies, and ethical standards in all team activities.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree required, Nursing or science related degree preferred.
Experience
• Minimum of 810 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales and account management experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical sales leadership experience.
• Experience with bipolar disorders is required.
• Proven track record of success in engaging healthcare institutions, academic centers, or large healthcare systems, particularly in the CNS or mental health therapeutic area.
• Experience managing and developing high-performing teams, preferably within a field-based environment.

• Comprehensive understanding of bipolar disorder, including its symptoms, treatment protocols, and impact on patients.
• Familiarity with the healthcare ecosystem, including COEs, payer dynamics, and market access strategies.
