Job Description

Our $6 Billion Global Retail, Distribution, and E-Commerce Client is looking for it's next Accounting Manager for one of their Heritage Retail Brands based on South Beach, as they just acquired a new Luxury Multi Brand Retail organization and this candidate will run the Accounting department for it. Right now is an exciting time with this client, as they are poised for significant growth over the next 3-5 years and incumbent will get to grow out their own team in Miami and choose the talent to take the Accounting department where it needs to be.



The Accounting Manager will receive a top of the line Benefits package, with flexible time off and great PTO, an outstanding compensation package that includes an above average salary and opportunities for annual bonus plus profit sharing. This position will be onsite, with opportunity to work from home on Fridays, and report directly to the Global Controller with opportunity to promote to US Brand Controller very quickly.



Compensation: $110-125K plus 10% bonus potential with higher earning potential with the right background



About the Role:



As the Accounting Manager, you will assume a pivotal position in our client's organization, taking on the responsibility of leading a team of Staff and Senior Accountants and will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensures the accuracy of financial records, and supports the month-end close and reporting processes. This role acts as a key partner to the Corporate Controller, helping lead the accounting team, strengthen internal controls, and enhance the financial infrastructure as the company continues to scale. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills and experience in inventory-driven or retail environments. Your extensive expertise and experience in Accounting, specifically within the realms of retail, warehousing, distribution, licensing & royalties, or supply chain management will serve as a strong foundation for success in this role. Quick promotion to Assistant Controller would be preferred.



In this role, you will be expected to leverage your deep understanding of Accounting best practices and industry trends to develop and implement strategies that optimize our client's financial performance. By closely monitoring key accounting indicators, you will provide insightful analysis and recommendations to leadership, contributing to informed decision-making and the achievement of our client's business objectives.



Primary Responsibilities:



● First level review of all things Accounting with our Client

● Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior management

● Conduct financial analysis to support key business decisions, including investment opportunities, cost optimization, and revenue growth initiatives

● Oversee the accounting function, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and reporting standards

●Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

● Assist in the audit processes and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets

● Analyze and Monitor the organization's cash flow, including cash forecasting, liquidity management, and optimizing working capital

● Oversight of Month End Close, Financial Statement Preparation, AP, AR and Revenue

● Lead the Job Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Accounting efforts

● Streamline financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness

● Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements

● Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate financial risks and maintain regulatory compliance

● Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations

● Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and development

● Promote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the accounting and finance department



Experience and Qualifications:



● Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, as well as Job Costing and Manufacturing Accounting

● 5+ years of experience in full cycle accounting with at least 1 year in a managerial role

● Bachelor's degree in Accounting required and CPA preferred

● Strong background in retail, warehousing, distribution and/or supply chain management

● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

● Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements

● Knowledge of NetSuite extremely helpful, as parent company is on Dynamics 365

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

● Experience with financial modeling and budgeting software
