Job Description

At Author Health, we are on a mission to improve access to high quality care for a diverse patient population with severe, complex health conditions, including older adults. Author's innovative care model is a virtual-first, technology-enabled mental health solution for patients with serious mental illness (SMI), substance use disorders (SUD) and dementia. At Author, we work as a multidisciplinary team and partner closely with primary care offices, families and caregivers. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for patients by providing community-based wrap-around outpatient mental health care inclusive of psychiatric, psychotherapeutic and care management services and keeping them out of the hospital and the ER. We deliver the majority of our clinical services through our virtual platform, with in-person contact as needed.

As part of our growth, we seek a compassionate and experienced Psychiatrist for the role of Psychiatrist Pod Lead to join our multidisciplinary team. Reporting to the Executive Medical Director, this role entails direct psychiatric care as well as overseeing a pod of psychiatric nurse practitioners. The ideal candidate has training and experience in diagnosing and treating serious mental health conditions in adult and older adult patients, such as depression and anxiety, dementia, psychosis and substance use disorders. In addition to direct clinical care, the Psychiatrist Pod Lead provides clinical leadership and oversight to a designated psychiatry pod composed of psychiatric nurse practitioners working very closely with the care management team (registered nurses) and Executive Medical Director.

Due to the clinical aspect of this role, the position requires that you be a board certified practicing psychiatrist. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered for this position

This is a full-time, exempt remote position. Author Health will provide all necessary equipment to support your work-from-home setup.
