High school diploma or GED. Three years of experience in MIG, TIG, gas, electric, and shielded metal arc (covered electrode) welding in the horizontal, vertical, overhead and flat positions to include layout and fabrication are required. Must possess a certificate issued by affiliates of and/or by the American Welding Society (AWS) in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead welding (6G). Must possess a CDL/Class B or proof of having passed the General Knowledge and Air-Brakes section of the CDL. Must possess own hand tools. Proof of education and work experience to meet minimum qualifications must be presented and will be verified. Preference will be given to applicants in the Transport Workers Union bargaining unit.
