"Position Overview
General Function:
Specialized and responsible work involved in the daily operations and maintenance of the City Gym facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patrons. This position supports the Gym Supervisor in both operational and administrative duties related to the management of PAL Gym equipment, enforcement of facility rules, and member services.
Responsibilities include maintaining accurate attendance records, assisting in the proper use of equipment, and addressing any concerns from members or guests in a professional and courteous manner. All work must be performed with a focus on safety and efficiency, and interactions with the public should always reflect the highest standards of customer service.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitors the gym facility and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety for all users.
• Assists with the setup, breakdown, and routine maintenance of gym equipment; reports any damages or needed repairs.
• Ensures gym areas are clean, organized, and maintained to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Supports in supervising gym patrons and enforcing facility rules and regulations to promote a safe environment.
• Assists with maintaining accurate records, including attendance logs, equipment usage, and maintenance reports.
• Provides courteous and professional assistance to gym users, addressing inquiries and concerns as needed.
• Ensures the safety of equipment and participants, following established guidelines and protocols.
• Foster positive relationships between youth and law enforcement officers.
• Provide mentorship and support to youth, guiding them in building skills and positive behaviors.
• Performs additional duties related to gym operations and facility upkeep as assigned.

Type of Appointment/Work hours:
• Part-time in-person position.
• Work less than the standard workweek, which is forty (40) hours of work per week consisting of five (5) days of eight (8) hours per day or four (4) days of ten (10) hours per day. The workday may be varied for the efficient delivery of public service.
• Will be required to work other than the standard workweek on occasion, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Qualifications & Work Environment
Requirements:
• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalency.
• Some experience and knowledge in organized recreational and sports activities.
• Must have basic computer knowledge (MS Word, Quattro-Pro, Excel, etc.).
• Must possess and demonstrate good organizational skills.
• Must have good written and verbal skills.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• As a condition of hire, applicants must undergo a comprehensive fingerprint-based background screen for statewide and national criminal history records (i.e., a Level II background check).
